Grok Bot users found their weekly usage limits unexpectedly maxed out over Halloween weekend, according to some users who posted on X. Some reported their usage jumped from as low as 50% to 100%, even without active use overnight.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk confirmed in an X post on Sunday that the change was not a glitch. "The cost of serving Grok Bot was unsustainably high relative to revenue," he wrote in a reply to a user's question. He has not addressed the issue on his main feed.

The report says SpaceX's filing last month stated that AI makes up 52% of company income. The company's renamed "Super Intelligence" division reported a profit of $431 million. That profit would have been higher without $1.2 billion in one-time costs tied to the acquisition of Cursor.

Musk has not said how usage limits for subscribers will change going forward.
