US intelligence agencies believe an executive in Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's circle is an informant for China, according to The New York Times. The paper identifies the executive as Alice Huang (Huang Le) of Megaspeed, a Singapore-based data center operator. The report says US authorities found through monitoring that she passes information to Beijing and is close to Jensen Huang.
According to the report, President Trump was briefed about a year ago and took no action. The report suggests he may have wanted to avoid disrupting Nvidia's chip sales or further straining trade relations with China. US officials at the time believed Jensen Huang had no idea about the matter and did not warn him.
The US government suspects Megaspeed of helping China gain access to Nvidia chips. Between June 2024 and February 2026, a Malaysian sister company bought at least $4.8 billion worth of AI hardware containing Nvidia chips.
An Nvidia spokesperson said meeting with customers is part of a CEO's job and that Megaspeed does not receive sensitive information. Megaspeed has announced an internal investigation. A spokesperson for the Chinese embassy dismissed the allegations as "groundless smears and slanders."
